Maal Hijrah 1431

In less than 2 hours, we will be saying goodbye to the year 1430 and say hello to the new year, 1431. Masyallah, time flies and waits for no man. Nonetheless, syukur alhamdulillah, with God's grace I am still given the opportunity to witness this transition. Insyallah.

Called up both my children to remind them of the hour and to say the prayers for Akhir Tahun and Awal Tahun, ie before and after maghrib. Ya Allah, do forgive me and my family for the sins that we have commited knowingly and unknowingly and please bless us with the pahla for the good deeds that we have performed. Ameen. In the new year to come, please show us the right way and help us to fence off the devils and its accomplices. Please give us the strength to contain our limitless desires. Do give us health, prosperity . Protect us from worldly evils, misfortune and natural disasters. Ameen. Ya Allah, please shelter Malaysia, my beloved country from all evils and let her prosper with her multiracial rakyat and please let this world be filled with peace and harmony. Ameen.

Two years ago, this hour, hubby and I were at the Masjidil Haram joining millions of jemaah haji bidding goodbye to the old year and saying hello to the new year. It was a serene atmosphere with one and all praying only for goodness either for self or families and friends or for the world at large. Insyallah, this goodness shall be promoted when the jemaah return to their homeland.

While I'm typing this post, hubby is surfing the net. Clearly I can hear speeches from Parliment Sittings. At certain points, there are clear hostility in the shouting voices. Rather disturbing I must admit. Lately, one too many political/non-political guy seem to want to outspeak one another on racial issue. The harsh and at times vulgar words uttered on the blog postings are far from pleasant. The chances of the issue snowballing into an uncontained situation is much feared. I pray hard that good sense will previal. Ameen. Think of our loved ones if not for the country we love. Think how lucky we are to be blessed with a home land which is freed from the awful disasters like earthquake, typhoon, war etc. Be thankful and be careful not to bring forth the miseries that we see daily on the world news. God bless us all. Ameen. May the new year bring us good health and good fortune.

Selamat menyambut Maal Hijrah 1431.
