It has been an eventful year....
Good, bad and ugly..... happy, sad and angry....
Whatever it was, it was part of life....
Neither you nor I could change it....
It has been written in our book of life.....
Let's learn from it...

Life goes on 2
Hubby knew how much I have been looking forward to attending the yearly convocation event of my former work place. Even though my hubby and I have to be in KLIA the day before this year convo, I pleaded with him to rush home the same day if I am invited. I tried out a few outfits and asked his opinion about the suitability. Is it too tight? Is it too bright? I recalled catching up on old times with the servicing friends as well as those pensioned ones. The laughters that we shared filled up the entire rest room.....As the date (as informed by an ex colleague) drew near and no sign of the invitation card, I became anxious. Could the card have gone astray. If so, the person in charge would group me among those who do not reply to the invitation as required in the card. I'm not that type and don't intend to be misunderstood as one. Numerous trips to the post office to check the mail box made me feel rather silly. So what should I do ? I even seek guidance in my solats.
Day before we left for KL, I called K asking him to check the list of invitation for me. I gave the reason as mentioned. Softly, I reminded him to check out quietly. Takut orang kata,"Hidung tak mancung, pipi ter....." Baik punya budak, he went and asked the lady in charge directly and called me the next day. "Tahun ni dia orang tak jemput akak dan pensyarah2 yg bersara........" Well, disappointing as it can be, at least there was a closure for me. I told hubby, " Bang,dia orang dah cerai saya talak tiga!" That is the ending to another chapter in my life. Life goes on...

Life Goes On 1
I have not been blogging for quite a while. Ever since I become member of the facebook community, whatever little time I have, I went facebooking!! So when I finally checked out some blogs recently, I was in for a shock and sadness. One of fellow bloggers has passed on. He lost his battle to cancer.Alfatihah. May Allah put him among the chosen ones. Amin. Salam Ta'ziah to his family.
I have been following Dr.Mas Afzal writings for quite some time. Though young, he was of great wisdom and was ever willing to share his knowledge.He had great passion for life and was full of compassion and empathy towards fellow cancer sufferers. He was unable to practise medicine due to his illness. But I am sure he would have been a great doctor. It showed in the passion that generated through his postings. Alas...his passing is a great loss not only to his family but to the medical world. Rest in peace "Baby Afzal".
Hubby, our daughter and I spent The Chinese New Year with my parents, my siblings and their families in Wakaf Bahru. My son and his family didn't join us. They recently moved house so they are still amidst settling down ( All three of them were down with flu through the CNY holidays!!).
It was a smaller gathering this year. My sisters in US and New zealand didn't come back and my brother from Seremban did'nt join us.Anyway, my parents put in the same affort in preparation. The reunion dinner on the eve was still the same. We gave out the same amount of ang pows and we visited our elders on the 1st day as usual. And the same feeling of sadness I felt when I hugged pa and ma goodbye. InsyaAllah we will usher in the next CNY together again. Ameen.
Johor was hard hit by flood. Thousands of people were displaced for half a month. Segamat became an island and we had to reroute through KL to go back for CNY. The rain made my preparation for the trip so tough. In the rain I had to get ready enough food and water supply for 37 chicks and 11 chicken. Hubby helped out with the 6 geese. The 3 cats, Rex, Addy and Boboy had to be attended to.Looking back, what is there for me to complain ? Compare us to the flood victims!!!! Forgive me ya Allah, nikmat yg mana yg telah aku dustakan ?Life goes on.....

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011
"Hello Ma, Happy New Year!" My darling daughter just called up. She is alone in the house because my son and family are ushering in 2011 in their newly rented apartment. So that will be the new living arrangement for my two children. Anyway, since the apartment is in the same area, it'll still be easy for us to see our grandson whenever we go for a visit.
Looking back at 2010, it has been a good year for me personally I should say. Of course there has been ups and downs especially where my physical wellbeing is concerned. Anyway, Syukur Alhamdulillah, I have been able to manage it well.
There was this one particular episode that led to the plant ,aloe vera, being confirmed as 'The Plant' in my life. In early March I experienced a bad bout of bodyache. It ached practically in every joint , muscle and nerve!! So I prayed for guidance in every solat that I performed. Soon it dawned on me to try applying the aloe gel on my aching body. Syukur Alhamdulillah, it works.Later on, I decided to juice aloe gel with green apple and 'pecah beling' leaves in ionised water and take it every morning as breakfast. That I practise ever since. What more can I say but Syukur Alhamdulillah.
I made 2 trips back to my hometown in Oktober and November. The vists were for helping my parents amend their Wills. The person who helped them made the wills with Amanah Raya has already passed on. My Pa kept saying that even though they don't have much property, they don't want their 9 children fighting over it like their own siblings did. I learned a lot from the experience.
When making those 2 trips I killed another bird with the stone. I went looking for long lost relatives in an attempt to gather informations for building My Family Tree. It was a heart warming and exciting as well as invalueble experience.
What is my aspiration for 2011?
May our life be richer and healthier;
May we love and respect young and old, rich and poor, black and white;
May our beloved land be prosperous and safe for everyone;
May the world be filled with love and compassion
Happy New Year people........

Takdir! Takdir!
The passing of a blogger is sad indeed. But the impending divorce of another is sadder still!
I have been following the two cases for quite some time and was always hoping that the inevitable would never come.
Now that breast cancer has caused a life to be taken away from her loved ones, leaving them to mourn the loss forever. Everyone feels for the family but accepts it as 'takdir'.All extended their condolences,wiped their tears and moved on with their life.
On the other hand, social cancer has caused a 30 years old union to approach the brink of destruction, bringing with it the happiness once cherished and the uncertainty of the future. It is so hurtful to the party concerned But the person hurt most is the one on the receiving end. The children are hurting too but they must always remember not to be judgemental, neither should we, the readers. 'Berat mata memandang,berat lagi bahu memikul!'
"Jodoh pertemuan di tangan Tuhan", goes the saying. Unlike death, divorce involve mortal decisions. Decisions based on affair of the hearts. So before it become 'takdir', there are avenues for changing the course. Let's all say a little prayer. Let not once a loving union come to an end, dear Lord. Ameen

Farewell,my friend
Alfatihah for dear Dalilah Tamrin aka Raden Galoh @ Onebreastbouncing.She passed on at 8.50AM Monday,19,July,2010 at KLGH at the young age of 42. May Allah swt place her among the blessed ones. Ameen. Salam takziah to MH, Adam dan Idris.Be strong.
Can't remember exactly when I started visiting her blog which was introduced to me by my blog friendly hubby. Thanks dear. From then on her blog is a must visit site whenever I'm on line. Being in the same boat, her writings interest and inspire me greatly. I dropped comments here and there but mostly I was a silent follower.
I thought she was very courageous, strong willed and she stared cancer in the eyes with that big eyes and winsome smile of hers.Most of all, she was such a believer.
She made it her mission to reach out to those who suffer the same fate. Tirelessly, she wrote her experiences on her blog with hope that it will help those in need. She did. She gave talk whenever invited no matter how far the venue was. She appeared on TV , she wrote a book on her illness and she even wrote a poem which has been recorded as a song.She was one in a million, she was.
I did not get to meet her in person but I did phone her up once after discovering that her cancer has returned with a vengeance.I wanted to share with her my way of managing the disease. Her tired voice came across like a loud whisper. We exchanged greetings and in no time we were laughing away like two old friends sharing experiences in battling the big C. My intended short call lasted almost an hour!
Now that she is gone, I get to read more about her through her blogger friends' writings. She's well loved indeed. Lucky you RG. May you RIP sis.

A Clinic Session
I arrived half an hour ealier than my 10am appointment at the Skin Clinic in JB hospital. I received no 5001, which indicated that I was the 1st patient to be seen by the specialist in room no.5.Usually, the specialist would visit the wards before attending to outpatient clinic. So patiently, I sat waiting. Arround 10.20am, I approached a nurse at the counter. She said the specialist was in. Back to my seat while trying to make sense of the delay.
Finally, at 10.45am, 5001 was displayed on the electronic board and hurriedly I entered the room. A lady patient who registered much later than I was seen leaving the room! After exchanging greetings, I showed the specialist my right palm which was cleared of warts. She decided that I was cured and needed no further treatment.And should I need to see her in future I could call up for appointment.So kind of her. The whole session lasted less than 5 minutes. Thanking her for getting rid of the warts, I got up to leave. On impulse I turned my head arround and said, ' You must be real busy as usual!'. " Yalah, what to do, so many patients to see!', came the answer.
So many patients! I thought I was supposed to be the 1st one! Hahaha...wishful thinking! There must be 2 groups of patients in the out patient clinic: one group numbered and one group unnumbered! Or maybe she meant so many patients in the wards. Guess I'll never find out.
