The passing of a blogger is sad indeed. But the impending divorce of another is sadder still!
I have been following the two cases for quite some time and was always hoping that the inevitable would never come.
Now that breast cancer has caused a life to be taken away from her loved ones, leaving them to mourn the loss forever. Everyone feels for the family but accepts it as 'takdir'.All extended their condolences, wiped their tears and moved on with their life.
On the other hand, social cancer has caused a 30 years old union to approach the brink of destruction, bringing with it the happiness once cherished and the uncertainty of the future. It is so hurtful to the party concerned But the person hurt most is the one on the receiving end. The children are hurting too but they must always remember not to be judgemental, neither should we, the readers. 'Berat mata memandang, berat lagi bahu memikul!'
"Jodoh pertemuan di tangan Tuhan", goes the saying. Unlike death, divorce involve mortal decisions. Decisions based on affair of the hearts. So before it become 'takdir', there are avenues for changing the course. Let's all say a little prayer. Let not once a loving union come to an end, dear Lord. Ameen

Farewell,my friend
Alfatihah for dear Dalilah Tamrin aka Raden Galoh @ Onebreastbouncing. She passed on at 8.50AM Monday,19,July,2010 at KLGH at the young age of 42. May Allah swt place her among the blessed ones. Ameen. Salam takziah to MH, Adam dan Idris.Be strong.
Can't remember exactly when I started visiting her blog which was introduced to me by my blog friendly hubby. Thanks dear. From then on her blog is a must visit site whenever I'm on line. Being in the same boat, her writings interest and inspire me greatly. I dropped comments here and there but mostly I was a silent follower.
I thought she was very courageous, strong willed and she stared cancer in the eyes with that big eyes and winsome smile of hers. Most of all, she was such a believer.
She made it her mission to reach out to those who suffer the same fate. Tirelessly, she wrote her experiences on her blog with hope that it will help those in need. She did. She gave talk whenever invited no matter how far the venue was. She appeared on TV , she wrote a book on her illness and she even wrote a poem which has been recorded as a song. She was one in a million, she was.
I did not get to meet her in person but I did phone her up once after discovering that her cancer has returned with a vengeance.I wanted to share with her my way of managing the disease. Her tired voice came across like a loud whisper. We exchanged greetings and in no time we were laughing away like two old friends sharing experiences in battling the big C. My intended short call lasted almost an hour!
Now that she is gone, I get to read more about her through her blogger friends' writings. She's well loved indeed. Lucky you RG. May you RIP sis.

A Clinic Session
I arrived half an hour ealier than my 10am appointment at the Skin Clinic in JB hospital. I received no 5001, which indicated that I was the 1st patient to be seen by the specialist in room no.5.Usually, the specialist would visit the wards before attending to outpatient clinic. So patiently, I sat waiting. Arround 10.20am, I approached a nurse at the counter. She said the specialist was in. Back to my seat while trying to make sense of the delay.
Finally, at 10.45am, 5001 was displayed on the electronic board and hurriedly I entered the room. A lady patient who registered much later than I was seen leaving the room! After exchanging greetings, I showed the specialist my right palm which was cleared of warts. She decided that I was cured and needed no further treatment. And should I need to see her in future I could call up for appointment. So kind of her. The whole session lasted less than 5 minutes. Thanking her for getting rid of the warts, I got up to leave. On impulse I turned my head arround and said, ' You must be real busy as usual!'. " Yalah, what to do, so many patients to see!', came the answer.
So many patients! I thought I was supposed to be the 1st one! Hahaha...wishful thinking! There must be 2 groups of patients in the out patient clinic: one group numbered and one group unnumbered! Or maybe she meant so many patients in the wards. Guess I'll never find out.

Waking up in April 2010
Updating this blog is like waking up from a long slumber. What have I being doing the past 3 months of 2010 ? Anyway, syukur alhamdulillah, I'm still blessed with all the goodness in life.
In early January, I declined a tutor assignment. There were 2 reasons for doing so. Firstly, the U management never failed to notify by phone of the assignment 2 days before the 1st interaction with the students! And I already had an appointment elsewhere. Secondly, my darling daughter advised strongly that I consider the stressful experience I went through during the first assignment. In my condition, stress is enemy number one.Being unable to take responsibility lightly all my life, I don't think the new assignment will be any less stressful. So as much as I love the subject, I love myself more!
February was the month of hectic travels. That month, I traveled back to Kelantan twice. First, I drove both ways for the Chinese New Year. This year, we had to bring both cars to accommodate 9 people including my lovely grandson(to be introduced 1st time to the folks back there). My younger sister back from the US who paid me a visit in BP and 2 nieces working in KL made up the other 3 passengers. My hubby co-drove with my son who is not used to distance driving. Syukur alhamdulillah, the trip was memorable. I flew in for the 2nd trip and spent a few days with my sister in my parents'place and flew out to KL with her on her return journey to the States. The trip was sponsored by my sister by the way.
After the 2nd trip, in early March, I experienced some health problem. Both my feet, especially the balls, hurt badly. My stomach, my abdomen and my shoulders ached terribly. My eyes tired badly. I was practically aching all over!! It scared the hell out of me. Is my cancer back again ? I usually avoid taking any form of pain killer so I prayed hard for guidance. Then, it dawned on me to use my favorite herb, the aloe vera. I used the gel to rub on every part of my aching body. Every morning, I'll juice an approx. 7 x 4 cm piece of aloe vera gel, a green apple and 3 pieces of 'pecah beling' leaves with 1/4 mug of pure water. I 'll drink it on empty stomach. Syukur alhamdulillah, it works. Anyway, I kept the appointment with my surgical doctor. The doctor prescribed gastric capsules and multivitamin for me. So what's wrong with me? It must be gastric plus stress !Insyallah, I'll be more mindful.
On April 15 around 6.30am,I received a call from my ex colleague. In a daze and disbelief, I received the sad news on the passing of another ex colleague. He was 52 years old. A Physical Educator who was still involved in competitive game and he succumbed to heart failure. So what went wrong? As far as I know, he put on weight after he stopped smoking and used to complain of heart burn. Later, I discovered that he was always reluctant in seeking medical attention. I guess that explains it all. His passing is a great loss to the PE department. He was knowledgeable and skillful and most of all a dear friend. May Allah swt bless his soul. Amin. Rest in peace, SUI.
"Health is Wealth" goes the saying. Most of us know it but how many of us are able to keep healthy ? Healthy life style is the key word, we know that. Maintain balance diet, drink enough water, exercise , manage stress and have scheduled medical check-up are the dos yet how many of us are able to adhere to it? I believe habits die hard so good and healthy life style must be inculcated from young.
Family must play the primary role in this afford. However, sad to say that most parents are preoccupied with other aspects of living to pay attention to teaching their children about healthy life style let alone be role models themselves. Then, the responsibility fall on schools.
Physical Education(PE) and Health Education(HE) are two subjects in school meant for educating school children on how to lead life long healthy life. If those subjects are allowed to play their roles, I am sure the effect would be substantial. Then again, as we know, being non examination subjects in exam oriented institution, PE and HE are not given the due respect. Most of the time, PE and HE are taught by non PE and HE teachers as subject to make up for their time table hours, or the time allotted used to tutor pupils in 'important' examination subjects like Mathematics and Science , and worst of all, the PE and HE time are used to carry out school
team practices or in preparing the examination hall!!! So there goes the aim of getting the school children to lead healthy life. The vicious circle will keep on turning..... So help us God. We are so 'helpless' Amin

Happy New Year 2010
Welcome 2010.
May we have a prosperous new year. Ameen.
Let us put more love into our life if we haven't done it last year due to whatever reason.
I will definitely put more love into my life. I'll love myself more by taking good care of my health. After all health is wealth. I'll lead a healthier life style by doing regular exercise, eat more balance diet, eat less fried food, drink enough water, get enough sleep and always remember to be thankful for my rezeki. I'll buy myself present once in a while and give myself a treat when I deserve one.
I will not take my family for granted. I'll not make assumptions but ask for explanations before taking actions. I'll be more patient with Abang's habits and promise to check my own. I'll allow my children to grow up. I'll try not to call them up too often!
I would like to call upon all Malaysian to give 1Malaysia aspiration a chance. Let us look for positiveness in others and help to nurture it. Let us put personal prejudice aside and give others a chance. Let us be civil in dealing with others. Let us put national interest 1st. And let us contibute in what ever way we can to the maintainance of the stability and prosperity of our beloved motherland. And let us be thankful for the peace and safety that we enjoy.
May 2010 brings an end to all the senseless killings. May the world citizen wake up to the weeping of the mother earth. May we not contribute to her destruction.
May we live in harmony with each other and with the nature.
Happy New Year 2010 to everyone.

Maal Hijrah 1431
In less than 2 hours, we will be saying goodbye to the year 1430 and say hello to the new year, 1431. Masyallah, time flies and waits for no man. Nonetheless, syukur alhamdulillah, with God's grace I am still given the opportunity to witness this transition. Insyallah.
Called up both my children to remind them of the hour and to say the prayers for Akhir Tahun and Awal Tahun, ie before and after maghrib. Ya Allah, do forgive me and my family for the sins that we have commited knowingly and unknowingly and please bless us with the pahla for the good deeds that we have performed. Ameen. In the new year to come, please show us the right way and help us to fence off the devils and its accomplices. Please give us the strength to contain our limitless desires. Do give us health, prosperity . Protect us from worldly evils, misfortune and natural disasters. Ameen. Ya Allah, please shelter Malaysia, my beloved country from all evils and let her prosper with her multiracial rakyat and please let this world be filled with peace and harmony. Ameen.
Two years ago, this hour, hubby and I were at the Masjidil Haram joining millions of jemaah haji bidding goodbye to the old year and saying hello to the new year. It was a serene atmosphere with one and all praying only for goodness either for self or families and friends or for the world at large. Insyallah, this goodness shall be promoted when the jemaah return to their homeland.
While I'm typing this post, hubby is surfing the net. Clearly I can hear speeches from Parliment Sittings. At certain points, there are clear hostility in the shouting voices. Rather disturbing I must admit. Lately, one too many political/non-political guy seem to want to outspeak one another on racial issue. The harsh and at times vulgar words uttered on the blog postings are far from pleasant. The chances of the issue snowballing into an uncontained situation is much feared. I pray hard that good sense will previal. Ameen. Think of our loved ones if not for the country we love. Think how lucky we are to be blessed with a home land which is freed from the awful disasters like earthquake, typhoon, war etc. Be thankful and be careful not to bring forth the miseries that we see daily on the world news. God bless us all. Ameen. May the new year bring us good health and good fortune.

Mamah/granny remembered
I'll always remember mamah fondly for the advice she gave me on her sick bed back in the village. "Once you have chosen your path, never look back! However, do not forget your family ." That was more than 4 decades ago and she is no longer around yet her words are fresh in my mind. God bless her soul. I love you, mamah.
We kids liked to gather around mamah for all the fascinating Thai folklores that she told. We looked forwards to her return from the market with the bakul/basket on her head. After selling her home grown produce, she would buy home some kuih/kek or fruits . Since there were so many of us, mamah would usually go for quantity instead of quality when buying fruits as I recalled. I had no complaint as mamah would always lovingly peel and cut the fruits with us kids eagerly awaiting infront of her on the anjung/varendah. She made sure everyone has a share.
I never have any memory of mamah ever scolding us kids though we were always mischievious. Of course she would nag every now and then, but mostly about the adults, not us kids. The other adults were kongkong/grandpa, pa and ma, pa'younger brother and his wife and pa's younger sister. Mamah's five other children set up home in other parts of the state. They would only visit on occasions. According to ma, mamah was the only child in a well to do family. So she was rather 'manja' and did not like to do house work. However, she was thrifty and like to do small business.
That accounted for her daily trip to the town market. Her goods were 'pinang, sireh, ulam-ulam'.
Mamah was bed ridden after a bad fall. She was putting the goats out to graze when her legs got caught in the rope. She was in her 60's then. Twenty years later she passed away.
I'll always speak fondly of mamah to Abang and to our two children. I will keep remembering how her advice guided me through my 36 years of married life and gave me strength through my ups and downs in life. Mamah, you are one of a kind. I love you.
