Our Cats

9.23am Saturday 21 December 2013

Just recovered from shock that I have lost the 2nd posting of 2013....
Going through the last entry, I discovered some spelling errors. In the process of making corrections, not familiar with the 'new' format, to my horror, I thought I have lost it for good !!!

Syukur Alhamdulillah. After trying here n there, I got it back.... Still wondering what I did wrong ?

Never mind, let me proceed with the 3rd entry of the year....

This time, I am going to talk about the cats under my charge.

Ady, is the female that came to our USJ home as a lovable adolescent many moons ago. She has grown into a lady so to speak; good natured, loves to be pampered, makes little sound, she will do the graceful jump the 1st thing you engaged her, will turns to the food whenever you stroke her...

Rex, is the handsome one who also came to us in USJ but as a kitty. My daughter, Aimo, picked him up , wet n hungry from the drain few months after Ady.  They hit off nicely. He grew up in my kampung home. Aimo begged me to adopt them after she could not spare much time for them due to workload. Of course, she promised to supply the food....
So Rex grew up climbing trees n playing hide n seek.

One day, Rex went missing for more than a day.
After searching high n low, finally, I found him trapped under the fiberglass empty fish tank that I overturned on my anjung.   He was lucky my anjung is wooden with space between the planks ! Rex is just like Ady,  he makes little sound too.
When he grew up into a real handsome brut, Aimo, always commented that who would believe that he n Ady were just 'stray' ! Of course, I would say, the costly IAMS n our love n attentions have a lot to do with that....

Another day, Rex went missing again. He returned after a few days. He looked thin, hagged n sickly. Hubby n I sent him to a vet in BP. It cost us RM 300++.
From the itemised bill that we requested, we knew that we have been had.... That was the 1st n the last time we visited  a private vet....

After that incident, we placed them in bought cages n the expenses also increased...

Boboy was picked up at the Perdana Court eatery. The stall assistant told us to bring him home as he
has been around scavenging for sometime. After we brought Boboy home n gave him a good bath,
he  practically turned into a handsome prince. His  bage colour fur looks rare but came of in handful. The hair drop could be due to his poor diet.....
Of the three, Boboy is the loudest, the most wainy n attention loving... Of course, he also attracts the most attention.

Now we have converted our store cum workshop into their home to give them more room. And my chores, taking care of them n the space doubled too. Nonetheless, looking at them n playing with them, makes it worthwhile....

Another new year, 2013

How and where do I begin ?
While visiting a blog, trying to understand the latest development in local politic, I suddenly remember that I have a blog myself...
OMG ! I have only 1 ( one) miserable  posting in the whole of 2012..... And that was in January !
Same old excuse, I guess... Busy face booking !

The year 2012 has been good, I must admit. Though there were a few bumps here and there...

Health wise, Syukur Alhamdulillah.

Anyway, there were 2 incidences that called for a better management of my life style.

First incidence took place during mid year. After an indulgence at all- you can eat steamboat outlet, reaching  home, the whole world spun. Hubby and daughter helped to massage. A bout of throw-up followed. Then only the spinning lessened. Ever since that day, I have not thought of steamboat...
Come to think of it, it did not begin with the steamboat. The steamboat thing was just the final straw on the camel back so to speak !  Lack of exercise and over eating were the culprits. The tightening of clothes and the bulging tummy were obvious signs but ignored. Now, to loose those extras is no small fit.

Second incidence was on a Sunday in November. I woke up with a fifty cents coin saiz lump under my right arm. Initially, there was no pain felt. A few hours later, it became sore , warm to touch and slightly painful ( on the scale of 5/10). My mind started to wonder if the big C has returned...
I tried hard to recall what happened prior to that. Then I remembered the previous week, I had fungal attack on my feet and left hand after wearing garden socks and glove that were not properly cleaned. I had an infectious right pointer finger injured during pruning of vogamvillas plants. So maybe it was just an infection on a lympnodeless arm...

Taking no chances, since I was then in Subang Jaya, I went straight to The Oncology Department, KL GH the next morning.  After the whole morning wait and my lengthy explanation and description, the doctor prescribed a week of antibiotics and  TCA for next year. So I gathered she was sure it was just a case of infection.
Diligently, I took 8 capsules per day for the whole week. And I consumed my daily natural health drink without fail and apply aloe vera gel to the lump...
Syukur Alhamdulillah. The soreness, the pain are gone but a little lump still remains. I'll continue to apply Aloe vera gel and see.

Most importantly, I must lead a healthier life style: eat well, exercise and watch my weight. And I must exercise more caution during gardening... New year's  resolutions !

Second posting of 2013

2.44am Friday 20 December 2013

Year 2013 will have at least 2 postings!!!

Could not sleep. Not that I am an early sleeper...
After updating my journal while watching 'Criminal Mind', I switched to blogging.
Tired of political bloggers endless 'disputes'.... Sometimes can't tell what is the truth anymore, I visited more personal blogs. Then I saw a sentence that reads, " You are a writer if you return to your blog...."

Hmm.... That jolted my memory to the fact that I do own a blog myself... Long abandoned since January 2013....
So , determined to at least have two postings this year, here I am tapping away on my iPad. Just letting the thought flows like I am making an entry in my journal.... Not difficult at all, is it ?!

Wonder why I have not been updating it ?
Facebook is still the scapegoat..... Like in 2012.... :-(
Eversince I  joined fb in 2008,  I am totally into it. It is like an addiction.  I obtained practically most of my infos of the day from fb, not that I am complaining....

I have many fb friends. They are mostly my ex students, university mates, ex colleagues and family.  I usually will check out a friend request thoroughly before accepting it.  I prefer fb friends who are not politically bias, moderate in worldview n relegious inclination....

Recently, an ex colleague who is a friend at work. made a friend request. I have not accepted yet. Reason being, when I visited the wall, too much of holy than  thou kind ofpostings.... Maybe, it is best to stay friends off cyber....

Sometimes, I find myself still behaving like a tutor who advices students on their problems n cheer them on their professional paths. I guess, once an educator, forever an educator....

It is 3.20am. Better call it a day. Better not push my luck where health is concerned. I do believe, one cannot replacethe lost night sleep... But believing is not enough....
I'll try to make it more than 2 postings...So help me God....
